Finding Hope

Where does hope come from? ...
How do you have it if you don't want it ...
How do you, for that matter, want it if you really don't see the point.

It is such a tumultuous world in which we live, and therefore, it is often difficult to see the proverbial silver lining around anything.

Here is where the key of hope falls into place.

If we understand the principle of honesty and that being 100% honest *all* of the time is essential to our best interest, well, you must admit that hope is easy.

Hope is a choice to make.
This means there is a solution that can be made by you..

The truth is that there is always a solution.

The truth is, also, that it is not always going to be easy.

Please remember that anything in life that is worth anything of real value, often requires effort.

The Effort becomes easier, however, if one truly finds passion for what he believes.

Find a spark of passion for believing in yourself ... that spark is called hope ... *smile*.
Being without hope, honestly, does not make any sense.

If you are without it, the only logical choice is to give up ... guess what? Well, in my own belief, you get to.

There may or may not be more to it.

It's a simple choice you get to make whether to have hope and to believe.

A simple choice.

Surrender and give it a try.

If you have an interest in the Native American traditions and the lust for a spiritual lesson, well, check out a wonderful author named Mary Summer Rain.
"Mary Summer Rain is the author of over 25 books on spiritual philosophy, most notably of teachings she received from a Chippewa visionary woman, No-Eyes..."
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mary_Summer_Rain)

Mary Summer Rain writes "The Visitation" which is her story of how she was visited by an Archangel who lays it right on the line as to man, his ego and inevitable downfall if he doesn't change to an attitude of love.

A very interesting read and it makes one think of his own responsibility for his own problems.
Hope is a continuous choice to make ...
All we have to do to find hope is observe. Observe someone or something that shows you that something is possible.

Look around and don't say

"Oh, I could never do that ..."

Take a closer look ... Most of the time, you will find someone who is no better, stronger, faster, or even more intelligent, , than you are.

We all have the same stuff, it's just that most of us are not in the same energy and attitude as others.

If we find hope that we could be ... might even really want to be ... well, then we have something.

So, back to hope I'd like to introduce you to a wonderful creature called the

ganges_dolphin_-_ravindra_sinha.jpg (12276 bytes)
../ganges_dolphin_-_ravindra_sinha

There are two species of blind river dolphins in south Asia - the Indus (Platanista minor), and Ganges (Platanista gangetica) River dolphins. [They were
once thought to be the same species.] They do not have a crystalline eye lens, which makes them effectively blind. But the lack of vision is compensated
by highly developed sound imaging skills, also termed ‘echolocation’ – a sophisticated sonar system that is a navigation aid in the muddy and silted rivers.
Their blindness " …is one of the reasons why these dolphins swim on one side underwater, with one flipper trailing in the muddy riverbed. The physical
touch gives the dolphins important information about their surroundings and helps them find food."

... so what does this have to do with hope ...

when a mother of a 3 year old little boy, told him that he could use his fingers and his ears and his mouth to see, because his eyes didn't work anymore, she gave him hope ... well, his Mom's hope was what this little boy learned to do ... just like a dolphin or a whale ...
Read about him in People magazine at:

and watch this video ...

and he can also be seen in this video of him with John Blackstone, a journalist with CBS....

So, from the hope of believing that something you once thought impossible, ... well, think about it ...
Find a little faith ...
faith. ... Tune in next month for an interesting twist to this one ... *smile*

If we went by what our eyes could see Well, often the truth would be eluding us.

For those without eyes, it's how you perceive things ...

Backseat Blunder

Walker is my trusty, young guide dog, with whom I was blessed right after Christmas.

I am so thankful that Walker does not talk, as he would promptly put in a request for a new handler.

During my morning errands, today, there had been a few mishaps that put me in kind of a foul mood. On the way back home, Walker and I were quietly waiting in a car, in the grocery store parking lot, as my friend stopped to pick up a few items. Walker was sitting on the backseat, as allowed by this driver.

I stepped outside to better hear, after my phone rang, because the radio was playing too loud.

This car, which was a loaner, to my friend, was a mustang, which I mistakenly assumed was a two door. My friend had put Walker in on his side when
we left, as the entry was easier. My side was a little close to another car.

I had not correctly determined my error, as I had felt only one handle on my side and also had not noticed the short size of the door as I opened and closed it

During the call, I had unmindfully stepped aside toward the back of the car. .
After I hung up, I turn back around from where I was standing and felt Walkers head where I thought the front seat should be. Yeah, I know, sometimes I get a little disoriented.

Anyway, I immediately ordered Walker into the back seat, Shame!! I cried, sternly. "Get in the back!"
He would not budge and I increased the volume and severity of my command.

I hear a couple chuckling as they walk by, wondering why this crazy lady is screaming for this dog to climb in the back when he is obviously already in the back.

Confused and frustrated, I quickly opened the door and abruptly commanded Walker out of the car. He immediately obeyed, as he usually does. I tried to pull the seat forward. I could, nowhere find the latch to release the seat and my frustration and ire grew.

Well, my friend returned, and I quickly ran to the other side of the car and asked him to put Walker in, as I yelled, "I've had enough!

He said "Wha?"

Why can't you put him on your side?

I bellowed, "Never mind, I can't pull the seat forward! I can't find the lever!"

"Why would you need to pull the seat forward? There's two doors, just open the back door!"

OK, I know I need to work on my restraint, today, and also possibly my logic.

This dog is an angel, and I just can't seem to realize I'm the dope!

He still loves me I think, cause after the whole ordeal, as I slumped in the front seat, humiliated,, his big
head reached around the side of the seat and kissed my cheek.

It was as if to say "It's OK, Mom, I understand."

Unconditional love is such a nice thing. My inability to give it back is sometimes still lacking,, but I'm
learning more every day.

Stamina: A key principle for spiritual and personal growth

Stamina

Good old fashioned determination and perseverance to anyone who understands success.

The stamina to just today, try a little bit more than what you did yesterday.
In what way did you build on a true vision of what it is you want in your life.

You have to begin somewhere, if you haven't already.

Start now, and if you are on a path to finding what your dreams could be, but you are stuck, well,

start again, with us.

Sit and jot down a list of what is the purpose of you fighting for this dream.

It could simply be to be rich and secure in the material world.

It may be finding a way to care for the people in your life who need more help than you can give.

It could be to save all the starving little children in some far off continent in the world.

No matter the level of what it is you really want, you have to identify it first.

My list from years ago, began like this ...

Peace
love of God of some sort
friends
soul mate
security

Each time I returned to this list, I Slowly, began to understand that I had to decide how badly I really

wanted these things .

There were others all over the world who claimed to have found these things and for some money

they would show me how to do it, to.

It was only me and a new found power of thought idea that made me believe that I could succeed.

Stamina.

You don't have it, you say?

Well, start now.

Just try again and keep trying.

Believe that all you dream of will come into view and within reach and then in your hands ...

Remember, it only works when you truly believe this.

Perseverance

One day at a time.

The looking back on every day from a nighttime bed,

"did I do the best I could have done today?

If the answer is no, you have two choices.

Forgive yourself and try harder tomorrow. With this one, you must always, also ask
"Am I being too hard on myself?"

Learn to be honest to yourself and you'll be amazed what this tiny little practice accomplishes in the end.

You'll begin to hear comments from those around you about you seeming different or happier.

You'll feel healthier and finally have a reason to want to try harder the next day.

You don't really have to trust me. Just have to try it a little and see what happens.

Let me know what you find.

Why do we need to know what God is?

Quoted from The Kyballion by three initiates :
The Hermetists believe and teach that THE ALL, "in itself," is and must
ever be UNKNOWABLE. They regard all the theories, guesses and
speculations of the theologians and metaphysicians regarding the inner
nature of THE ALL, as but the childish efforts of mortal minds to grasp
the secret of the Infinite. Such efforts have always failed and will
always fail, from the very nature of the task. One pursuing such
inquiries travels around and around in the labyrinth of thought, until
he is lost to all sane reasoning, action or conduct, and is utterly
unfitted for the work of life. He is like the squirrel which frantically
runs around and around the circling treadmill wheel of his cage,
traveling ever and yet reaching nowhere--at the end a prisoner still,
and standing just where he started.
